Innovative Interlock Features For Improved Reliability
Interlock 1 failure initiates a controlled ramp down
EpiTech's smart interlock control for interlock 1 allows for the MBE grower to have interlock protection for the heated viewport, while also ensuring the viewport temperature does not change so quickly that it jeopardizes the structural integrity of the viewport.
interlock 2 failure initiates a ramp to preset low
The purpose of interlock 2 is to allow the MBE grower to water cool the port containing the heated viewport and interlock that water cooling. If the water flow interlock detects a cooling failure, the SmartHeated Viewport Power Supply will automatically ramp down to preset low, which can be programmed for a power level that is safe for operation without water cooling.
